Q&A: How to Get Rich Doing What You Love!

Today Harv confesses his biggest struggle, paves the way forward for you so you can find your 'thing' that will make you rich, and shares the secret to staying on track - just in case you’ve been feeling a little lost!

Ready to get started on doing what you love?

Question from Audience:

“Do you have any information about how people have found their true passion that results in more wealth?

Is there a methodology?

Is there a roadmap?”

Harv’s Answer:

Harv feels that’s actually a great question because it narrows down where most people are in the world right now... The quest to discover the steps for success in their business and live a meaningful life of fulfillment.

This topic happens to align with Harv’s biggest secret to his personal business success….

And if finding your passion, your purpose, and your mission, and coupling that with a vision that works to create success and wealth in the real world is what you’re after…

The bottom line according to Harv is that you’ve got to come up with WHAT it is you’d like to do and WHY you’d like to do it. Or, put differently…

WHY ARE YOU HERE?

And what do you wish to do with that WHY?

How do you want that to look in the real world?

And that’s both your mission and your vision.

And then comes your strategy of how you’re going to get there.

Now this is an area of Harv’s life that he would say was probably the biggest thorn in his side…

It was possibly the biggest cause of stress in his life, and that is for the 12 years that he was struggling… Harv says he was constantly looking for:

  • What’s the right thing to do?
  • What should he do?
  • What will be the THING that makes him rich?
  • What will be the thing that sings to the resonance in his heart?
  • What will be the thing that puts them both together?
  • What is 'the thing'?
  • What is it?
  • What should he be doing?
  • What? What? What? What IS IT?

Harv admits that he was confused, saying that his direction was his biggest problem.

He couldn’t find the ‘right’ direction for himself. The right ‘vehicle’, the right time, the right Harv, and you know…

His mind was going, “I have multi-talents and I have multi-interest… Which one should I do… Blah… Blah… Blah!”

And he adds that finally, he came up with a system literally based on a need and problems in his own life… He came up with a system of finding his RIGHT LIFE DIRECTION!

And that right life direction is unique to all of us.

Harv shares that his parents had always said to him… “What do you want to do when you grow up”, and he then said… “Well, I enjoy this, so I’m going to do that…” so he often responded with what he enjoyed…

And when he started saying… I enjoy…, Harv remembers his parents across the dinner table, both of them kind of yelling at the same time… “Who are you? Pollyanna!?”

See, when Harv was a kid, they used to watch ‘Pollyanna’ and it was about this girl who was just really pure and pretty and simple you know…

Everything's positive and everything goes her way… And that’s the ‘Pollyanna effect’, says Harv.

Here’s what his parents said to him…

“You’re living in a dream world… it doesn’t work like that!

Work is work, and enjoyment is enjoyment. And those two things don’t go together!

You work to earn money to feed yourself and put bread on the table so you can feed yourself and feed your family okay?!

And on the weekends, or maybe one day on the weekend, you can go and enjoy yourself okay?!

That’s what we do, and we have a nice life, alright?!”

Now don’t forget, Harv’s parents came from Europe, where they came from nothing but complete struggle... They were in wars and it was a different world and in Harv’s mind, he was going…

“No way, maybe I am Pollyanna. I still believe that somehow you can enjoy what you’re doing and do well with it.”

But how then did Harv become a multimillionaire?

He got rich because he discovered his passion and purpose...

He took action to become the person he needed to be, bringing with him a systemized methodology that works in the real world that he could offer others using his expertise and strengths.

How cool is that?! That’s the ultimate, isn’t it? To get rich just by being yourself and living what you believe?!

Well if ‘doing what you love’ worked for Harv, he knows it will work for you!

So figure out your passion, discover your purpose, and follow your destiny.

Here’s a little exercise to get you started:

Write down ONE thing you’re passionate about and pair it with your strengths and values to see if you could turn it into a business.

But take your time with it and know that you’re starting to work on your future in the present moment.

It could be something you haven’t done in years that you’ve forgotten about.

Or something you're doing daily that you haven't quite defined as work or play or talent yet...

So really connect with yourself to find that one thing you won’t get tired of easily.

You’ll be surprised at what surfaces when you take the strategic time necessary to reflect, focus, brainstorm, and write things down.

Next, you can write down one specific action you can take as a result of what you’ve learned about yourself, your passion, and purpose - and make that your very first action...

Make a small action, a tiny action and Harv says that it’s super important to keep it simple because

And please say this out loud…

A body in motion will tend to remain in motion…

And a body at rest will tend to remain at rest.

It’s as simple as that… The LAW of Momentum!

You’ve got to get yourself and your body into motion and that’s why Harv’s asking for the very first tiny little action okay!

That first action could be buying a journal and using it for your planned strategic thinking moments.

Or it could be to get a calendar so you can write down your Big Rocks and prioritize what’s most important.

Just take one small action immediately after reading this and commit to maintaining the habit of working toward your destiny so that you too can keep getting better at living a life of purpose.

Remember Harv’s words that, installing one new thing into your life, one step in the right direction is worth 100 years of thinking about it.

Next Steps

Here’s some homework for you after today’s message…

Change just one thought, to something radically different, so you can change your life.

That radical shift in thinking may very well be the one thing that helps you realize what it is you’d rather be doing with your time.

Allow yourself the opportunity to realize the potential for yourself, for your business success, and what passions you can turn into profit.

Because building and running a million-dollar business is hard and damn near impossible when you’re doing it while you’re not passionate about it…

Save yourself years of burnout and struggle and thousands of dollars wasted going down the wrong road by making sure you know who you are and what you want.

And if you’re fortunate enough to know what your purpose is, and your vision is clear, and you know which direction is for you, start taking steps to learn the principles of monetizing it.

Frequently Asked Questions About Doing What You Love

Has your Mind ever wondered…

How to become rich doing what you love?

The how is often easier to figure out than the what and the why

Because business principles for success are simpler to follow than unearthing what is in a person’s heart.

So, firstly, figure out your passion…

Knowing what you’re passionate about indicates what you will not tire of.

It can show you what has meaning and significance to you - something you don’t have to get paid to be committed to.

With that kind of knowledge, knowing who you are, where your strengths lie, and what you’d like to achieve can lead to a life purpose and your ultimate destiny.

Secondly, test the waters by starting small…

Once you have the kind of self-knowledge required for meaning and purpose, you can start small to gauge the kind of potential impact your idea might have and what will work best.

Remember, there has to be a reason behind what you do, why you do it, how you do and who you’re doing it for.

Understand that it is only through trial, error, and feedback that you’ll find that sweet spot that could be monetized.

Naturally, you’ll have to do some research, fill in the gaps, learn some new skills, adapt to changes, and start doing things in a very specific way for you to get the results you desire.

With the research out of the way, you can prepare yourself for spending many hours on doing what you love because pretty much every decision you’ll be making going forward, will be aimed at making money with it.

If you’re employed, consider doing what you love as a side hustle before risking all you have worked for.

What does doing what you love mean?

To do what you love means to live a life of meaning, purpose, and happiness.

It means to journey with resilience, motivation, direction, wellness, and favorable impacts on society and the living individuals you care about.

Embracing what you’re passionate about goes beyond contentment as it is the path to your purpose and destiny, which is the story of your legacy and the lasting mark you leave on the world.

Confucius is credited for writing “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life."...

Steve Jobs put it differently by saying, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

And both points of view state the value of doing what you love clearly.

How do you start doing what you love?

Think about what you’re naturally talented at or what you did as a child that brought you joy.

What could you spend hours on that stimulates your desire to continue?

Friends and family who know you could also indicate from their perspective what you’re better at than most, or share with you what you seem to be able to do effortlessly that others find difficult.

Consider what you’d rather be doing with your time if money was not in short supply, and recall the role models you admire to help indicate where your interests are.

Get involved in circles related to your passions and interests, spend time with like-minded people, and seek mentorship to support you in diving deeper into the purpose and meaning behind what fills your life with satisfaction.
